I tried once while driving & scared myself with a slight lane deviation at speed - not good! I WILL say that app has been VERY helpful in learning my way around Austin, TX. I've been up there the last few weekends researching Formula 1 racing coming to the new Circuit of The Americas (http://circuitoftheamericas.com).
